It’s been a few months since we said “I do,” and we finally have all the pictures of our day.
We became engaged in late 2015. Once we made the decision, it felt silly to wait around. We set the date for less than a year out. Which made 2016 mostly a blur of preparation and excitement.
I’m a procrastinator by nature and I need that crunched-for-time feeling to get anything done. At the end of it all, we got a lot done!
Flowers are beautiful, and EXPENSIVE, and so fleeting. I got it in my head that I could make all the flowers for the wedding. That turned into a major DIY project. But it was worth it! I spent most of 2016 folding paper and tissue flowers nearly every day. They made up the centerpieces, cake decor, 9 bouquets, corsages, and boutonnieres.
Friends and family played major roles in our wedding. A fraternity brother officiated the ceremony.
The Father of the Bride and close friend performed our song as a duet, Lucky by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat.
We didn’t have a DJ, but several of the groomsmen set up sound equipment for us. Plus, they helped with set up and tear down. These guys are great!
My sister baked and decorated our cake. Featuring more paper flowers. And she made different flavors of cupcakes!
My mom spent too much time on Pinterest and insisted we have a candy bar. Which she designed and executed like a boss.
Me and the SO met Salsa dancing. To incorporate a little bit of our history, we had my dance instructor teach a salsa lesson before dinner. It was great seeing all the people we love doing something we love!
It very nearly rained on our wedding day. Nothing we could do about it, but go with the flow. It didn’t rain, but it stayed cloudy. For about 10 minutes we saw sunshine as it dropped below the clouds.
